The good, The bad, and The Miley

Once again I am thoroughly disappointed by this years VMA fashion. It seems like only a few took much thought to their outfits, and I cannot understand what their stylists were thinking. There were so many boring and dull ensembles like plain white peplums, boring black dresses, and tons of outfits that were so under accessorized.

Don't get me wrong there were a few gems in the mix but It's just bizarre that most of those girls have amazing bodies yet can't dress for them. I could think of hundreds of stunning outfits to put them in, I'm sure you can too?!

So lets start with the outright boring... Not awful but boring...

Shailene Woodley- this girl is so cute normally but this outfit is basically one I see girls wearing to the bar all the time. Her make up is too bland and she's seriously lacking some statement accessories. I mean collar necklace, chunky bracelet, a hair piece? Anything will do at this point!! 

Boring number 2... Taylor swift-

She was on some people's best dressed lists but I hate everything about this look. The dress does nothing for her figure, it's way too old for her, the hair is just so bad, and the makeup is like gatsby gone wrong. I feel like this Herve Leger could work on someone else, just not her... T swizzle please inject fun into your red carpet wardrobe.

Sarah Hyland in Marchesa- Marchesa is one of my fav red carpet designers but this just does not work on the tiny girl. She's usually super quirky and a little rocky but this just takes that all away from her. I feel like the cut and extra material swamp her teeny figure, and that she should have worn a color that pops! The layering and cut out areas are just too much.

The really bad....

There was so many so I just picked out the few that irritated me the most.

Katy Perry in Ungaro-

I just don't get it. The print with the butterflies etc makes it a cleverly crafted and interesting dress but it just does not look good at all. The neckline is all wrong for her, the length makes her calves look bigger than they are and it's just too clingy in the wrong way. It's so annoying because she can look so fab in the right outfit.

Lady gaga in Prabal Gurung- gaga has been off the radar for a while so she should have had some amazing come back outfit for the red carpet. In this  outfit, with that jet black hair she just looks goth or like she's heading to a Halloween bash.

Lastly was model Erin Wasson, and man did she get it wrong. Why would you ever think this would work, ever, on anyone?

The Best!!!

Do not despair there were a few good ones of the night, even if they were rare.

First up is Glee's Naya Rivera in sen couture- now this is how you rock a black gown Taylor. She looks so gorgeous and sexy, love the hair, rings, all of it, win!

Rita Ora in Alexandre Vauthier- this gown is a work of art. From the sequined top to the feathered train. She's saying 'I am the star of the moment' in this gown. Not sure about the hair but we can let that slide. The black At the hips adds a bit of edge to the feminine materials. Love!

Holland Roden in Naeem Khan- some people are going to hate this but I love it! Its actually my very favourite from the night. It's creative, fun, flirty, and she totally pulls it off. The hair and makeup are perfect for the outfit and she looks like a star.

My last pick for best dressed is questionable. At first glance I wasn't  sure if I loved it or hated it but now I totally love it. I like how she tried to add a little sex and edge by going with a dress that's daring for her. It is Selena Gomez in Atelier Versace. I love the trim and structure of the dress, and the little bodice. She also has fab shoes and emerald earrings on for a great contrast.

And then there's Miley sigh....

Hannah Montana what has become of you?. It all went wrong starting with this vintage D&G... Then it ended up in nude nastiness. We don't want to see your ass Miley. We don't want to see you humping someone's husband, and we don't want to see you shoving a foam finger at your crotch. I'm so embarrassed for her...

Summer summer summer time!

Hey everyone! I know I have been super slack at updating. I have been traveling, dancing, laughing, working a little:) and planning my future. (Currently updating from my iPhone!)

I have been loving all the summer colors and styles this year! When I saw my mum in England she reminded me that as a teen I would only ever wear black and grey. What a long way I have come! My closet is now bursting with brights and neons!

 In my short trip to England I was called "too loud" by 3 family members and  2 strangers:( when I asked my hubs if it was true he said "why do you think I have to block you out sometimes," So I guess the bright colors match my personality and booming voice:) (I like to call it projecting clearly....) 

Thought I would post some of my looks from this month! I kept a summer vibe most of the time and went with a lot of corals, greens and blues. If you want to know where anything is from please let me know!

I am heading to the US now on a mission to find the green Kate spade bag I have had my eye on and a new pair of heels! Anyone spotted any fab heels lately?

My Summer Must Haves!

Summer is here, and so are all the wonderful summer clothes!! The problem is there are so many "trends' this summer that its impossible to rock them all,  or know which ones to go for. Here are my top 10....


#1. Mint and Mint Jeans... Love Love Love. Mint is one of the freshest colors there is and adds a great pop of color to any outfit. IF you don't want to do the mint jeans then go for a clutch, shoes or even just a skinny belt.

#2 Crop tops. Now I know not everyone can wear this look easily, but if you go for a high waisted maxi, pencil or shorts, it is do able and can look really sexy.

#3 Colored Maxi's... Maxi's are still hot and there are some fab colored ones out right now, including some great patterned maxi dresses. Pair with a cute bag, diamonte sandals, and some arm candy.

#4 Emerald Green.. I totally adore this shade of green, its rich and looks great on most skin tones. If your not sure about it try a top, bracelet, or necklace.

#5 Cotton Shorts... Shorts no longer need to be tight and denim. The hottest shorts right now are loose, comfortable and totally stylish. Wear with a tank, button down, or thin sweater.

#6 Printed Pants... LOVE as you can probably tell from my previous blog posts.. These pants can be a mix of trends; grunge, sophisticated, monochrome, graphic, or floral. They are super easy to take from day to night with just a quick change of shoes.

#7 Wide Brimmed hats.... Super chic, and super sensible. These hats not only look stylish but they are also great at protecting your face from the glaring sun

#8 Denim Jackets.... For those cooler summer nights a denim jacket is a must have, it goes with pretty much anything and will keep you warm. Make sure you pick the right shade not too dark and not too light, and with a little bit of fade.

#9 Stripes and Graphic Prints... There is just something really edgy about symmetry, Again, stripes are not an easy look to pull off. If you are curvy don't do the wide horizontal stripes as it will just make you look bigger, Instead try the squared graphic print or vertical stripes.

#10 Printed kimonos and cover ups.... These are so comfy and light, perfect for summer. You can find them with asian inspired prints, florals, butterflies, and graphics.

AND my Least favorite trends of summer...

1. See through Purses... Really??? Why do I want everyone to see my tampons and advil? I really just don't get it. One fashion editor mentioned putting your clutch inside of one so no one can see your belongings but why would I want to carry two bags?! 

2. Cut out dresses... They have really just taken it too far. I liked the ones with a few little slits here and there but now there are so many cuts you might as well not wear the dress...

3. High waisted denim shorts that show you ass cheeks.. I am all about the 90's comeback but I just don't want to see anyones butt cheeks hanging out of the bottom. If you want to do this look, do it right and get ones a bit longer.

4. Leather dresses. For Summer?? really? do you know how hot those things are! I wore a leather skirt in the winter and I was sweating. Save it for the cool months ladies.
